We work with growing, ambitious companies. We do not limit this to any particular industry, and we work with a range of companies of different sizes including, but not limited to, start-ups and more established firms which are looking to expand. We ask that companies provide a challenging and interesting placement for candidates, which gives them a reasonably high degree of responsibility. This typically includes, but is not limited to, working on specific projects. If you would like more advice on this particular issue, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our placements are open to university students at any stage of their degree, and to university graduates who have recently completed their degree. This includes, but is not limited to, undergraduates, postgraduates, PhD students and MBA students. This could also include graduates who have been working for a couple of years after graduation and are now looking for something different!

Yes, absolutely. Unlikely other programmes, we do not confine companies to only offering summer or winter internships. You are most welcome to offer placements during term time, which can be completed by part-time students or recent graduates.

We sort through all the CVs which we receive to create a shortlist of suitable candidates. We then interview the shortlist of candidates, in two stages, to narrow down the list down even further to just a few candidates. If you wish, and we highly recommend that you do, we can then arrange for you to interview these candidates, and then make a final decision. We can, of course, make this decision for you, if you wish.

Placements can last anything from 2 weeks to 12 months.

Yes, we offer candidates a range of exciting permanent positions, and we offer companies the option of taking on candidates for permanent positions if they wish to do so.

Yes, you can extend the length of a placement at no extra cost. We also offer you the option of taking on candidates permanently at the end of their temporary placement if you wish to do so. We charge a very reasonable transfer fee for this.

Yes, all of our placements are paid. You will be paid on a monthly basis, for the number of hours which you have successfully completed, provided that they have been signed off by your supervisor at work. Your hourly rate will depend on the level you are at in your studies.

One of the benefits that we offer to companies which we work with, is that we take full responsibility of the candidate screening process. Therefore, we have decided not to include details of placements on the website to prevent people from sending their CVs directly to companies. However, if you sign up to our mailing list, you will be able to receive regular updates of new companies which sign up to talentburst™.

No, our service is completely FREE for candidates to use!

No, talentburst only offers placements within the UK.

If you choose to work away from home, you will be expected to find and pay for your own accommodation and unfortunately, talentburst cannot provide any subsidies for this. However, the monthly salary which you receive from your placement should be enough for you to cover the costs of living away from home. Your employer may also be able to help you find suitable accommodation, since they will probably know the area better.

We do not confine the placements that we offer to any particular industry, so they are very varied - they could range from working on a placement in a biotech start-up, to working in an artistic capacity in a photography firm, to helping to plan company strategy in a larger established business. However, all the placements on offer will be at growing, ambitious companies, so you are likely to have a lot of responsibility and really have the chance to make an impact at the company where you work.

If you would strongly prefer to work in a specific area within a company, or for a certain type of company, you can specify these preferences in the student application form. We will use this information as a guideline in finding a placement for you, but we cannot guarantee that we will find one which will exactly match your specification.

We are looking for candidates with good results at A Level and at university, with extracurricular activities which demonstrate that they are proactive, hardworking and good team players. For tips on how to improve your CV, visit our candidate resources page.

Within 24 hours of sending us your CV, you will receive a confirmation email which will contain further information on the process of finding you a placement, and details of who to contact if you have any queries. We will then email you to keep you updated on any new placements which we would like to consider you for, and may call you to arrange an interview. We interview in two stages: an initial first-round interview at our offices which may then potentially be followed by a second-round interview with the hiring company. If no suitable placements have become available after six weeks, we will give you the option of withdrawing your interest, in which case we will no longer consider you as actively looking for a placement. However, if you would still like us to continue looking for a placement for you after six weeks, we would be happy to do so.

Not necessarily. This will depend on which placements are available, and on the quality of your CV. However, after you send us your CV, we will keep you updated on any new placements which we would like to consider you for, and may call you to arrange an interview. A member of our team will then ring you or email you within 24 hours to discuss your requirements. There are no charges until we find a suitable candidate for your company! After you are happy with the candidate that will be working for your company, we will charge a nominal, fixed, placement fee. This fee allows us to cover the costs involved in screening candidates and the initial administration costs of placing a candidate. Once work begins, companies are charged on an hourly basis for work performed by the candidate, with rates depending on the qualification level of the candidate. Companies are invoiced on a monthly basis for these charges by Talent Burst Ltd.

We normally take about three weeks to find a suitable candidate, but this does depend on the time of the year, and on how specific your requirements are. We are flexible, and can work to shorter time-scales if necessary, so please do not be put off, just get in touch with us and have a chat about your requirements. If we are unable to find a suitable candidate for you, we will be honest and tell you, rather than dragging out the process. We recommend that you notify us that you are looking for candidates as early as possible, to increase the range of talent available to you.

We make use of our links within universities to advertise our services to thousands of students and graduates. We use a range of marketing channels, which are very effective, ranging from emailing university societies directly to advertising in regional and national press.
